During lockdown, Primary 2 embraced online communication and learning with our daily use of Class Dojo. Studyladder, Education City and a variety of other websites were recommended to help reinforce the children’s learning experiences.

Weekly Literacy, Numeracy and World Around Us activities were posted at the beginning of each week in printable format with advice for parents. These core subjects were complemented by other areas of the curriculum each week. We were available online every day to support parents and our children's learning.

We loved receiving and sharing photos of the children. This proved to be a super way of keeping links as close as possible and allowing children to see their friends.

The home-school links with parents were also very beneficial as a two-way process during the lockdown experience.

Feedback from parents:

“A mixture of different activities from active learning, outside play, worksheets and online learning. This was really helpful with keeping my child motivated. Class Dojo was a great way to keep in touch and speak to the teachers and share photos to show my child of his school friends.”

“My child had some difficulty adjusting to being at home all the time and we were given some great resources to read and also just the peace of mind that the teachers gave us as parents was really useful. It made us not feel so alone.”

“Messages from the teachers helped motivate and keep interest.”

“The worksheets provided were very thorough. All the teachers were also brilliant at replying whenever we had any questions.”

“Feedback and comments on photos was nice to see and encouraging for the kids. The weekly workbooks were vital.”
