School Counselling

We are fortunate to have Lynne Dornan, our fully qualified and highly experienced school counsellor, supporting the wellbeing of our pupils. Lynne is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Counselling can help children cope with a wide range of challenges, including bereavement, family separation, anxiety, worries, loneliness, anger, and friendship difficulties.

Lynne uses a child‑centred approach, encouraging pupils to explore and express their feelings through play, art, craft, drama, and storytelling.

Counselling sessions take place in a private room in school and typically last around 30 minutes.

If you feel your child might benefit from counselling, please contact your child’s teacher through ClassDojo. They will send you a referral form to complete. There is usually a small waiting list and Lynne will contact you as soon as a space becomes available.

Before beginning counselling, Lynne always speaks to the parent or carer who made the referral.
