Victorian Dance Street Scene

11th Dec 2025

As part of the Primary 7 topic investigating Victorian life, the children have been taking part in a series of dance lessons inspired by this period.

In this lesson, the children were imitating the works of Victorian street urchins who often worked as pick-pockets. Through mirroring and shadowing, the children had to construct a sequence of movements where they stalked their target, distracted them to free them of their handkerchiefs and then showcased the ensuing chase that followed.

The children were able to draw on a range of experiences and knowledge to bring these scenes to life.
