The Great Mathematics Bake Off Competition Winners!

A HUGE THANK YOU to all the families who participated in the Bake Off competition. We were overwhelmed with the efforts made by so many! It was great to see the children applying their measuring skills to bake some tasty treats! This is a wonderful way to further develop your child’s measuring skills at home. I saw evidence of so many mathematical concepts in action: counting cupcakes, making patterns, finding the total number of buns, weighing out ingredients using a variety of units of measure, converting measures, recording time, setting the temperature of ovens, cutting fractions of cakes, problem solving, etc. . .  The list was endless! The standard was extremely high again this year! Congratulations to all our winners: Ellen, Lorcan, Jude, Aoife, Leo, Tom, Annie, Finn, Katie, Daniel, Rory and Medb. Every child who submitted an entry was presented with a certificate for all their efforts and will be able to cash in a night off homework in the new term!
