St Therese of Lisieux Cup 2026

27th May 2026

The 4th edition of the St. Therese of Lisieux Cup took place today at the Waterworks.

Blessed with blue skies and blazing sun, we had seven teams taking part from across North Belfast and Glengormley.

The schools competing were St. Therese of Lisieux, Holy Family PS, St. Patrick’s PS, Holy Cross Boys’ PS and St. Bernard’s PS.

From the very first kick, the standard of football across the board was very high. As the day progressed, the goals started to come and it was time to check who placed where in the table.

After a quick tally and check, St. Bernard’s topped the table followed by St Therese 1 then St Patrick’s and Holy Cross Boys.

The first semi-final between St. Therese and Holy Cross Boys was a tight game and St. Therese managed to score midway through the half and held on despite great pressure from HCB.

In the second semi-final, St. Patrick’s and St. Bernard’s played out a highly competitive game that finished in a draw. Settled by penalties, St. Patrick’s managed to hold their nerve and progress to the final.

The final was played with a great competitiveness and St. Patrick’s set the tone very quickly, almost scoring from the kickoff. After settling into the game, St. Therese managed to come
back into the game and created a few good chances but ultimately, neither team were able to score.

Going to penalties, St. Patrick’s went first and had theirs saved. St. Therese capitalised and took the lead from this point and never looked back.

Well done to all of the boys who took part and a massive thank you to all of the schools who came and made it into such a fantastic day.

We are looking forward to next year already.
