Primary 7 Girls Progress to the Liz Bryson Cup Final

14th Jan 2026

The girls from Primary 7 took on St Matthew’s Primary School today at the Waterworks in the semi-final of the Liz Bryson Cup.

Up against a very strong St Matthew’s side, St Therese took command of the game from very early in the first half. Their continued pressure and creating of chances finally paid off midway through the first half with a well worked goal. The same pressure continued for the rest of the half but some excellent stopping from the St Matthew’s keeper kept the score the same.

St Matthew’s came out in the second half determined to get back into the game and created a number of early chances but were unable to capitalise. Against the run of play, St Therese managed to double their lead with a bit of quick play which brought them back in control of the game.

St Matthew’s managed to get a goal back with five minutes remaining but St Therese were able to stand strong and resist the pressure to secure their passage to the final. A fabulous effort from all of the girls, well done!
