The boys and girls from Primary 6 and Primary 7 took part in the North Belfast heats of the Belfast City Council Cross Country Championship last week at a very wet and windy Grove Playing Fields.
With the West Belfast trials being rescheduled to the same day and venue, it made for a busy morning and longer wait between races for our boys and girls.
Despite this, the boys and girls gave an excellent account of themselves in all of the races with some securing podium places and some strong top 10 finishes, ensuring qualification for the finals day which will take place later this year at the Mallusk Playing fields.
Well done to all of the boys and girls. If there are any children who have an interest in developing their running further, there are lots of excellent local clubs and park run events that they can easily access. All details can be easily found online.
