A HUGE THANK YOU to all the families who participated in the Bake Off competition. We were overwhelmed with the efforts made by so many! It was great to see the children applying their measuring skills to bake some tasty treats! This is a wonderful way to further develop measuring skills at home. I saw evidence of so many mathematical concepts in action: counting cupcakes, making patterns, finding the total number of buns, weighing out ingredients using a variety of units of measure, converting measures, recording time, setting the temperature of ovens, cutting fractions of cakes, problem solving, etc. . . The list was endless! Congratulations to our prize winners: Heya, Alannah, Jude, Joseph, Odhran, Ben, Sofia, Alma, Isma, Archie, Daniel and Tom. Every child who submitted an entry was rewarded with a certificate for all their efforts!
