Dominican College Fortwilliam Taster Day 2023

25th Oct 2023

The girls from Primary 7 had a taster day at Dominican College, Fortwilliam on Wednesday 25th October. For quite a few of the girls, it meant two visits in one day as they were also attending that evening for their SEAG familiarisation evening.

After awwing at the enormity of the buildings in comparison to our own school, the girls were chaperoned by some of the A Level students to the assembly hall where they were based for the day.

The day was split into 2 sessions. In the morning, the girls took part in a series of Numeracy challenges incorporating Musical Maths and Real World Problems. The girls were treated to a drink and snack for break before finishing the rest of their Numeracy session with a Planning Costs problem solving task.

In the afternoon, the girls took part in a Halloween themed creative writing session that allowed them to showcase their understanding of writing techniques to create a suspense-filled story.

We would like to extend our thanks to Dominican College, Fortwilliam for their hospitality and the warm reception we received from the staff and the help that their pupils gave to the girls.
