Congratulations to the boys from Primary 6 and 7 who were crowned Division 5 winter football league champions this past Friday.
Taking on local North Belfast rivals St. Patrick’s PS at the Cliftonville 4G, the boys gave an excellent performance from start to finish that ensured they were able to defend the title that they won last year.
The first half was played against a strong breeze which restricted the boys' ability to play fast flowing football but they were able to take advantage of short hand passing to create a number of scoring chances which allowed them to take the lead going into half time.
The second half saw St. Therese take control of the game, creating a number of scoring chances and making use of the steering breeze to be able to shoot from further out.
St. Patrick’s did fight back as the game drew to a close and were able to reduce the deficit with some lovely worked scores of their own.
In the end, the game finished with St. Therese securing the win and retaining the title from last year.
