2026 Primary 7 Ganaway Residential
The boys and girls from Primary 7 completed another milestone this year with their much anticipated trip to the Ards peninsula.
After a whole year of hype and excitement, the children were a bundle of energy and songs from the moment we left the Antrim Road and arrived at our destination.
With the weather forecast being unpredictable, the staff at Ganaway made some alterations to the activities to ensure the children were fully immersed in the wide range of activities.
This year’s offerings included the climbing wall, indoor inflatable obstacle course, archery, zip lining and caving. It was brilliant to see the children giving all of the tasks a go and seeing some overcome their fears and trying things they never imagined they could.
During their free time, the boys and girls had a wide range of activities to choose from including crazy golf, play park, table tennis and use of the games room. They were also able to play mass games of 20-a-side football on the open playing fields.
With the weather being kind to us, we were able to take the children on our traditional Thursday night beach trip where they were able to go for a shallow dip or search for buried shells and treasure which they thoroughly enjoyed.
In addition to all of the fun activities, they also had to show some maturity in making their own beds with the difficult fitted sheet and duvet cover managed by some individually and by others seeking help from their peers.
The children, over the course of the 36 hours, were absolutely fantastic ambassadors for the school and had an absolute blast. They will be able to take away so many memories that will stay with them for life. Well done to all of the boys and girls.
